Being born in Italy, I moved to San Diego at a young age where I did most of my studies all through college. Moving here to Coronado where four of my children have attended schools, I can’t help but appreciate every aspect of this unique gem of a city which my family and I have chosen to call our home. The value I see in this city and its close knit community should be preserved.
As a mom of 5 children, my youngest being 11 and my oldest 21, I have a personal interest in the academic education of our schools in our community. Being so family oriented, I have always placed a high priority on education and believe it’s of utmost importance for our children as they are our future leaders. During these past few challenging years, I became more aware and informed of everything that was happening in our educational system and it really struck a chord with me and so decided to run for the Coronado Unified School Board. I have come to understand that today is critical for us parents to get involved more than ever in their education, personal formation and look after their overall well-being. We need to stand up and speak up for what’s best for them and I want to be that voice.
My guiding principle is that every student has a right to a high quality education and deserves a safe, happy and healthy learning environment. We are being faced with change and many challenges and I’m fully vested in protecting our children and reflecting our family community values.
My priorities are focused on providing a transparent high academic level, refocusing on academics and the overall well-being of our students. I will be sure that students needs and parents concerns come before any outside interest or political agenda. Let’s keep Coronado thinking in Coronado schools. It would be an honor and privilege to be able to serve the students and families of Coronado in helping improve our local education system.
